After studying an overview of art history and analyzing art historical styles, students created drawings that incorporated objects depicted in a variety of styles inspired by different art movements and artists.

Students developed essential questions in order to investigate a topic or concept while creating a self-guided series of 7 visually and conceptually thematic works. Throughout their series students focus on practice, experimentation, and revision. Students can submit their portfolios to AP College Board for college credit.

In addition to class projects, some students participated in an art exhibition at a local gallery called Sequoia Gallery + Studios. They created self-guided works on 12”x12” square panels and prepared their work for display.
